Certified Audio Cassette Digitiser ![]()
We have teamed up with Graff of Newark to create our Certified Digitiser. Please see their web site www.graafofnewark.co.uk for more information about their products.
We digitise standard audio cassettes as x4 speed. We digitise 1/2 speed audio cassettes at x8 (such as is the case with Lanier court recordings) The two or four channels on the side of the tape are summed on to one track, compressed and then signed.
We provide a total capture solution. The Windows XP based software application enrols each audio cassette using the steps described below.
The operator is prompted for a case number and a description field. The case number is used as part of the file name. Both the case number and description are combined into a index record which is sent to the Certified Digitiser for signature.
The operator is now prompted to take a photograph of the tape. This is sent to the Certified Digitiser for signature.
The cassette is now placed in the master tape reader and converted. Side A is placed into it's own audio recording (i.e. track) and signed.
If the audio cassette has a second side the operator is prompted to turn the tape over and the process is repeated. Side B will go into a seperate recording (i.e. track).
Allowance is made for multiple tapes in one case.
Please note that each element is individually digitally signed and added to the composite file.
We do not provide IT infrastructure. The services of an IT vendor is required for this. We present the certified index record at the top of the composite file to allow the database designer the possibility to easily determine the indexing information of the file.
