How to use the Certified Audio Recorder - Field Model    
   

This is a brief set of instructions that appears on the cover of the CD.

1.                    INSTALL SOFTWARE

a.        Insert CD into CD Drive and follow Instructions on Screen.

b.       If CD does not AutoStart, install the Application by running the "CR_Console_Installation.exe"  from the install directory, most likely the install CD-ROM.

2.                   MAKE A RECORDING

a.        Insert 2 new ‘AA’ batteries into the battery compartment.

b.       Insert ‘MMC’or ‘SD’ Card into Card Slot. (Top to face side of Box) Ensure Card clips into place.

c.        Move Slide Switch (front or back) ON.

d.       Recording actually begins after Initialiasation. (When the RED LED switches off and the GREEN LED Blinks QUICKLY.)

e.        Recording can be paused by depressing the PAUSE Button. (GREEN Blinks SLOWLY) Push the PAUSE Button again to restart recording.

f.         Recording is Terminated by moving Slide Switch (front or back) OFF.

3.                   LISTEN TO A RECORDING

a.        Connect a headphone to the playback jack. (Smaller 2.5mm socket)

b.       Move Slide Switch (front or back) ON while depressing the SELECT Button or depress the SELECT Button within one second of switching on. (RED LED Blinks SLOWLY.)

c.        Select a FILE TO PLAY. While depressing the SELECT button, press the PAUSE Button once (to go to First File) or press the PAUSE button repeatedly (to step to desired Recording.)

d.       While listening to a recording press the SELECT Button to rewind 10 Seconds or press the PAUSE Button to forward 10 Seconds

e.        After listening to a recording move Slide Switch (front or back) OFF.

4.                   COMMON ERRORS

a.        BATTERY POWER LOW - (GREEN LED ON) - Insert 2 new ‘AA’ batteries into the battery compartment.

b.       CARD FULL or OUT - (RED LED ON) - Insert another ‘MMC’or ‘SD’ Card into Card Slot or ensure  ‘MMC’or ‘SD’ Card is correctly seated into Card Slot.

c.        RECORDER FAULTY - (GREEN LED ON& RED LED) - Contact CypheRix (Pty) Ltd.

5.                  CONNECTING A RECORDER TO THE PC

a.        Using the USB cable supplied, plug the standard side into a free USB port on the PC and the mini-B side into the recorder.

b.       A Windows driver will need to be installed when the recorder is connected to the PC for the first time. The ‘*.inf’ file can be located in the "USB_Driver" directory on the CD-ROM or in

                                                               i.      x:\ Program Files\Cypherix\BR_Console\USB_Driver\*.inf.

c.        Once the Recorder is connected to the PC, (GREEN LED & RED LED Blink alternately), the Recorder can be controlled from the BR Console program found in: 

Start _Programs _Cypherix _ BR_Console.

d.       Please refer to the Help in the CR_Console program to learn how to operate this program.
