The Digital, Certified Audio Recording System

This is a South African development.

Our System is Unique in that:

1. Each Audio Recording is individually Signed at Source using strong standard cryptographic techniques.
   
2. Certified Audio Recordings are Tamper Evident forever. Alterations will always be detectable.
   
3. Certified Audio Recordings are now admissible as Electronic Evidence in Court. Certified Audio Recorders provide irrefutability by means of a cryptographic Digital Certification Scheme. This satisfies the most stringent legal demands.
   
4. The System is designed to be easily understood by a non-technical Judiciary and other Decision Makers.
   
5. The Enhanced version of the Certified Audio Recorder can Encrypt Recordings to prevent un-authorized parties from listening to them. (This is in addition to the Certification Scheme).
   
6. Certified Audio Recordings can be stored on any digital media without loosing legal strength.

The Certified Audio Recording System Consists of three components:

1. The heart of the Certified Recording System is our handheld Field Model Certified Audio Recorder. This device can record for more the 24 hours on a pair of AA sized batteries. A 1 G-Byte SD Card will allow 64 hours of recording.
   

2. In order to interface to the Certified Audio Recorder we have developed a Windows 2000 and XP based PC application. The software allows you to copy recordings from the Recorder, prove that the recording has not been changed, listen to the recording and archive the recordings.
   

3. The Control of the Certified Audio Recorder is done using Master and Local USB security tokens. They enable you to prove your control of the recorder at all times.
